Why the White Desert

Open horizons and the stillness to feel every second

Egypt’s Western Desert offers an exceptionally open landscape. August is normally dry with clear skies in this arid region, while the absence of city buildings and urban crowding creates a calm setting for the eclipse. Weather can never be guaranteed, but the location is selected to give guests an unobstructed horizon and a strong viewing environment.

01
Inside the totality path

The selected camp and viewing area lie within the path of totality for the 2 August 2027 eclipse.

02
Clear open sightlines

A wide desert horizon without buildings, traffic or the dense crowds expected around major cities.

03
A managed experience

A permitted event camp with a maximum of 100 tourists, supported by local guides and an on-site medical professional.

Two nights in the White Desert

A fully serviced event base. Then a quieter camp for ten.

Your first night is at the purpose-built eclipse camp, where sleeping tents, open seating, dining and viewing areas are air-conditioned for the August event. After totality, shared travelers continue in smaller groups to a second White Desert camp arranged for a maximum of ten guests.

Air-conditioned throughout

Cooling across sleeping, seating, dining and eclipse viewing areas

Second night for ten

A smaller camp shared by no more than ten guests after the eclipse

Fresh meals and drinks

Food prepared fresh with vegetarian options, water and cold drinks

Event-day support

Wi-Fi, charging, toilets, first aid and an on-site medical professional at the eclipse base

Every camp photograph comes from journeys operated by our own team. The 2027 eclipse base will be a larger purpose-built setup, while the second night returns to the intimate small-group camping style shown in our real work.

Before you book

Questions travelers usually ask

Everything important is explained here before checkout. If you still need help, speak directly with our local team on WhatsApp.

Is the viewing location inside the path of totality?

Yes. The selected and permitted viewing area in White Desert National Park is within the path of totality for the 2 August 2027 total solar eclipse. Exact operational coordinates will be managed by our team and relevant authorities.

Is clear weather guaranteed?

No responsible operator can guarantee weather this far in advance. August is normally dry with clear skies in Egypt’s Western Desert, and the selected area provides an open horizon without buildings. We will continue monitoring conditions and follow the safest operational plan available.

Is the entire eclipse camp air-conditioned?

Yes. The purpose-built 2027 event camp is planned with air conditioning across the sleeping tents, open seating, dining and eclipse viewing areas. This is a central part of the experience because the event takes place in August.

Where do we stay on the first night?

The first night is at Aliyah Lodge in Bahariya Oasis. The package includes an air-conditioned room, dinner and breakfast before the 4x4 expedition begins on 1 August.

What is different about the second camp night?

The first night is at the larger purpose-built eclipse event camp. After totality, shared travelers continue to a smaller White Desert camp arranged for a maximum of ten guests, giving the second evening a quieter and more intimate desert atmosphere.

How many guests travel in each vehicle?

Shared passenger cars carry a maximum of four guests, shared HiAce vehicles carry a maximum of ten guests and shared 4x4 vehicles carry a maximum of five guests. Private city transfers and private 4x4 vehicles can be requested for an additional cost.

How many people will be at the eclipse camp?

The event camp will host a maximum of 100 tourists. Transport and safari activities remain organised in smaller groups according to vehicle capacity, and the second night’s shared camp is limited to a maximum of ten guests.

What is the price for children?

Children aged 0–6 travel free of charge. Children aged 7–17 are charged 50% of the adult package price ($797.50 for this package). Every child must remain under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

How do I reserve and how much is the deposit?

As long as this tour is not marked Sold Out, you can book directly through our secure checkout. The deposit is $300 for each adult and $150 for each child aged 7–17. Children aged 0–6 travel free and require no deposit. Every paid deposit is credited toward the traveler’s final package price.

Can I pay the deposit with PayPal?

Yes. The checkout will accept secure PayPal payments directly through our website. You will enter the traveler details and review the total deposit before completing payment.

Are solar eclipse glasses included?

Solar eclipse viewing glasses are not included and will be available to purchase separately. Guests must use proper solar viewing protection during the partial phases before and after totality.

Can vegetarian meals be arranged?

Yes. Suitable vegetarian meals will be available. Tell us about dietary needs when you submit your booking request so the camp team can prepare properly.
